My '66 Chevy panel which I've had since '92. Originally painted Chevy red, I had it painted yellow at Earl's back in '94 so people would mistake it for a Helms truck. Being an Earl special, it's now faded, rusty and ragged looking, which is cool with me. I swapped out the painted front bumper and steel grille for a chrome bumper and aluminum grille, and I had the back bumper chromed. (Seems the original panel back bumper is hard to find since they usually got swapped out for a step bumper.) It still has the mostly original unrebuilt 250 straight 6. I've changed the one bbl. Rochester over to a 2 bbl. Holley-Weber with a Hellings-style aluminum air cleaner from Stovebolt, power steering and brakes (drums all around), lowering springs from CPP (3"-4"), Hellwig sway bars front and rear from J.C. Whitney, and KYB shocks all around. It currently rides on 235-60 BFG T/A's in front and 265-60 Woosangs in back, mounted on 15X8 primered Chevy steelies with '66 Nova dog dish caps. I also have another set of stock 15X6 steelies painted blue with Futura wsw tires, 215-75 in front and 235-75 in back, which are seen in the photos. Interior has a Classic Autosounds stereo head unit and kick panel speakers, split bench and steering wheel from a '92 Chevy 1500, Nissan KingCab jump seats in the back, B&M Quicksilver shifter with a cast aluminum knob from So Cal Speed Shop. No heater or AC and only a driver side sunvisor. Next on the agenda: a new exhaust system. (Update) As of September of last year I finally added a new exhaust system, from manifold to tailpipe. I also had a new custom made radiator fitted to the panel, and last but not least, a new (to me) steel grill off a larger series Chevy. This one has no gridwork, just an opening with a red bowtie in the middle. I replaced the Nova caps with the original painted caps with the red centers to compliment the grille. Pix coming soon...
